Estelle Winslow

Estelle "Mother" Winslow is Carl's mother. Despite her age (and Carl's objections), she maintains an active social life.

Rosetta LeNoire played Carl's cool and quick-witted live-in mother, Estelle. Born in 1911 in New Jersey, Rosetta appeared in numerous stage productions and was cast in the famous all black version of "Macbeth" directed by Orson Welles. Her TV and movie career prior to "Family Matters" included appearances on "Gimme A Break," "Fantasy Island" and "Cosby." In addition Rosetta appeared in the big screen flick "Brewster’s Millions" with Richard Pryor and John Candy. Rosetta passed away in 2002 at the age of 90.
