Bryan Cranston: (Hal)
California born, Bryan Cranston’s authoritative voice and presence made him a perfect fit for all kinds of roles in TV and film. The Emmy award-winning actor was featured in popular 90’s series like "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "Chicago Hope," and did voiceover work for "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." In 1996 Cranston played Virgil 'Gus' Grissom in the Tom Hanks-directed film, "That Thing You Do!" and in 1998 he played Buzz Aldrin in the Hanks-produced TV mini-series, "From the Earth to the Moon." After a recurring role as an eccentric dentist on "Seinfeld" and a meddling neighbor on "The King of Queens," Cranston took on the role of Hal, the manic head of the family in "Malcolm in the Middle." (Fun fact: The family’s last name was never revealed). Cranston also directed seven episodes of "Malcolm in the Middle."
